Choosing a color scheme for your wedding is one of the most important, yet difficult decisions. There are so many different things to consider when choosing one. Do the colors match the season that my wedding is in? How can I elevate my wedding by the colors I'm choosing? Has this color scheme been too overdone? Will my bridesmaids get mad at me for putting them in this color? All these questions run through your head when trying to choose a color scheme. I'm going to walk you through some trending color palettes that are not only trending now in 2026, but that I think will elevate your wedding and help you choose what your looking for.
The Moody Romantic

This one is perhaps one of my favorite color palettes in 2026 and I like to call it The Moody Romantic. Think of deep and bold romantic shades like a Bordeaux, burgundy, or plum paired with champagne or gold. This one, I feel, works especially well if you are having an autumn wedding with the rich deep shades really bringing out the moodiness of the fall. Pictures with this color scheme demonstrate the passionate yet elegant event you would want to have. I love the bolder choices that this palette has and it would definitely make your wedding a wedding to remember.
Earthy Browns and Neutrals
"Brown is the new black". We're seeing a definite transition from black and white to using more earthy browns paired with a latte beige.

I like this palette as it gives more of a warm and welcoming atmosphere. This is perfect for the couple who wants a more intimate event that feels soft, yet still keeping the level of sophistication we want to see with weddings. This could definitely be a good choice for a summer wedding, though this one is very versatile and I can see it being used for all seasons.
Romantic Pastels

If you're thinking of having a spring wedding, I love the Romantic Pastels palette. When you think of spring and the colors that are associated with it what do you think of? Maybe a dusty pink, sage green, lavender, or pastel yellow? That's what this palette has. If your style is more whimsical, light, and airy then I think these colors would be perfect for you. This palette feels fun and bright and your guests will definitely appreciate the lightness of spring being used in this palette. We recently did a garden party themed styled shoot where we used these colors. Winter Elegance

This palette is for a couple who wants a very elegant and sophisticated wedding, perhaps even a black-tie affair. It would go perfectly for a winter wedding which is why I named it Winter Elegance. We're talking emerald, black, and champagne. This is a classy, yet bolder choice then just the traditional black and white. I like the emerald for that dark pop of color, while staying true to classic colors like black and champagne. Though I've named it for a winter vibe this could obviously go for any season as it's a simple, classic elegance that will be remembered forever.
What's the "Perfect" Choice?
Let's be honest: there is no perfect choice. Your color palette will just help enhance your theme and style of your wedding. When trying to decide on your palette just try to think of some simple questions to help get you started. What's the vibe and style that I want for my wedding? What colors can match the season I'm getting married in? Most importantly, what colors do I love and want to see at my wedding? The choice is yours whether it's trending or not, but hopefully this can help guide you in matching your vibe and theme of your wedding to the color palette.
